Repair work is carried out using traditional restoration techniques, allowing damaged areas to be stabilised and rebuilt with sensitivity and precision.

Individually tailored repairs are carefully planned to respect the original construction and character, improve appearance and restore strength and longevity to your rug.

Examples of our work.

Fringe & Side Cords:
A rug’s warp and weft combine to create the structure or foundation. The warp threads are then knotted at each end, 
and these collectively make up the ‘fringe’. If these knots start to fray, the rug itself will begin to lose its strength, so it is vital that fringes and side cords are kept in good condition.
Dyes, Colour Runs & Stains:
Damage where colour has run in a carpet through incorrect cleaning, flood, water damage and spillages. We can also restore the natural balance within the carpet, preventing future colour run from taking place.
Holes of any size:
Whatever the cause, holes don’t have to mean irreparable damage, but we would recommend that these are tackled as soon as possible. Small gaps can be skilfully embroidered by our carefully-trained staff and larger areas of damage will generally require reweaving or patching. Our mending and reweaving is essentially invisible, leaving you with a rug that looks almost as good as new.
